Information, advice, support and activities for people with learning difficulties and their carers

How You Can Help

Join our Friends Group

Signposts is setting up a Friends Group and we welcome anyone who is interested in joining us.

Our aim for the Friends is to:

  • Help us raise our profile in the community
  • Help us raise funds

You can find out more by clicking here
Volunteer With Us

Signposts needs volunteers to help run the Resource Centre.

Could you give 1 to 3 hours a week to support people with learning difficulties?

We need people to help with admin and on the Welcome Desk as well as people who could help run basic activities like arts and crafts sessions. We are also looking for people who could give a Talk to our service users. This could be about anything that people might find interesting.

Please call in see us on a Monday or Friday or call us.
Make a Donation

As a charity we rely upon donations and fundraising to enable us to run the service. We do not receive any statutory funding.

If you would like to make a donation by cheque (please make cheques payable to 'Signposts (Mid Sussex) Ltd'), please enclose your details so that we can express our thanks. If you would prefer to remain anonymous, we just ask that you attach a short note explaining that the money you are sending is a donation. Alternatively, you can always make a donation in person by coming to see us.

If you are able to donate equipment or resources, please get in touch.

We are always very grateful for donations.
Organise a Fundraising Event

Why not organize a fundraising event on our behalf with your friends or work colleagues?

Have a party, hold an auction or run a 5-a-side football tournament.

Let us hear your ideas, we can help you organise the events.
Leave a Legacy

Legacies help us to continue to provide much-needed support for people with learning difficulties and their families.

Leaving a legacy to Signposts (Mid Sussex) Ltd can have a lasting effect on the services that we provide. The wider community benefits too, since our focus is firmly on inclusion.

We would always advise obtaining professional advice if you are thinking of making a Will: this is often much easier and less costly than people imagine.
You and Your Company

There are a number of ways for you and your company to get involved and help us raise money to fund our services.

These include:

  • Host our collection boxes in your reception area and retail outlets
  • Make us your Charity of the Year
  • Sign up to Payroll Giving
  • Join in with our events
  • Donate your products or services - Gifts in Kind
  • Give staff time to work as volunteers
  • Sponsor one of our projects or services
  • Provide work experience, for a day, a week, a month, maybe longer... We work with you to match your staffing needs with our clients' skills and abilities. This gives your company the chance to reach potential employees and offers our clients valuable work experience.

In return, we offer publicity of your involvement, help to promote your corporate and social responsibility profile and support to raise your visibility within the local community.

Please contact us for more information on any of the above.
Schools and Colleges

There are many ways that you and your school or college can help to raise funds to support our services.

For example:

  • Make us your Charity of the Year
  • Raise money for us from Harvest Festivals, Christmas Carol concerts or summer fetes.
  • Hold a non-uniform day
  • Run a raffle or a sponsored event
  • Hold a car boot sale
You and Your Community

We can help you organise a fun event for your community.
